Windows 10 end of life on screen warnings
Written by: Nigel Howle

Microsoft is stepping up its campaign to encourage Windows 10 users to upgrade to its successor.

If you are a Windows user, you will increasingly see adverts for Windows 11. The ad campaign is a prelude to moving 10 to end of life mode.

October 14, 2025, has been earmarked as the date when Microsoft technical support will cease for Windows 10. While this doesn’t mean that the popular operating system will disappear,  Microsoft will no longer provide technical support such as bug fixes, feature updates and crucial security updates for Windows 10.

While Windows 10 will continue to function,  PCs using it will be at risk of newly discovered vulnerabilities that can be exploited when they are connected to the internet.

If you see the warnings and want to find out more, our  support team at UK Business IT is here to help.
